Today, for the first time in its 50-year history, Split Airport has welcomed the two millionth passenger, Ms. TATIANA KREMEN from Ukraine, arrived on Croatia Airlines flight OU4439, from Munich.

This shows the result of positive trends of growth in passenger and aircraft numbers, particularly in summer season. Namely, Split Airport notes 17% passenger traffic growth in relation to the same last year period (first 8 months). Only in the month of July, 544 000 passengers passed through our airport, what represents the record number of passengers in one month.

According to past announcements of air carriers, passenger and aircraft traffic continues to grow in postseason, too. On this occasion, we would like to point out that our national air carrier, Croatia Airlines, increases in its winter time table the number of flights to Munich from four to six times a week, and to Rome from five times a week to a seven days a week basis.

On behalf of arrival of the first two millionth passenger to Split Airport, we organized a small welcome ceremony. Mr. Luksa Novak, General Manager, congratulated the lucky passenger and presented Ms. KREMEN the gift from the side of Split Airport. Mr. Boris Kolka, Croatia Airlines Sales and Marketing Manager handed her two return tickets for European destination at her choice, and Mrs. Davina Djirlic Ljubicic from Split Hotel Park, handed her the voucher for a weekend arrangement at Hotel Park (time according to agreement). Ms. KREMEN was very excited and claimed that this was great and pleasant surprise for her. She said that she will surely visit our country again.

The Feast of St. Bartholomew, the patron of Split Airport, was traditionally celebrated with appropriate program.
The Holy Mess in the medieval church of Saint Bartholomew was attended by Split Airport employees, as well as by numerous guests and believers from neighbouring places.
Small stone church of St. Bartholomew was built at the end of 13th and the beginning of 14th century. It is situated on the hill within Split Airport area, and it is open for public only one day every year.
The program continued with a party hosted by Split Airport General Manager, Mr. Luksa Novak.
