The Split Airport, the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), and the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) had organised the 23rd Annual North America and Central Europe Airport Issues Conference. It has been held at Hotel Park, in the city of Split, Croatia, from 21st to 23rd October, 2018.
The Conference program is designed to promote the exporting of North American airport related technologies by providing direct contacts between North American specialised companies and key airport and aviation officials in the Central Europe Region. The Conference offers valuable opportunities for airport and aviation officials from North America and Central Europe to discuss and debate about airport management and operations challenges. Besides them, the Conference is attended by representatives of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia and the Slovak Republic airports, as well as by U.S. Commercial Service Officers from U.S. Embassies throughout the region.
Today, the employees of Split Airport celebrate of their patron St. Bartholomew.
Inside the Airport area there is a small medieval church of St. Bartholomew which is open for visitors only once a year, on this day. Within the celebration, a holy mess will be held in front of the church. Besides employees and guests of Split Airport, we expect a larger number of believers from surrounding parishes.
